Harvest – Pomegranate The first time I saw a pomegranate, I was 19 years old. It was set out for me by a special young man who was suave and sophisticated. He seemed to know just how to win my heart because when he opened it, he said, “This is also called a love apple.” I thought it was the most stunningly beautiful fruit I’d ever seen. He broke the sections carefully so I could see all the scarlet seeds and taste the luscious red juice. No wonder the pomegranate symbolizes love, generosity, sanctity, fertility, and abundance! It has been honored throughout the world and through the centuries in designs, paintings, and tiles. I have tried to do the same.
